KANHA

Kanha National Park is nestled in the Maikal range of Satpura in Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India that forms the central Indian highlands. The largest national park in Madhya Pradesh with 941 Sq. Kms expansion and it is considered to be one of the best administered and managed park in India. 

The landscapes and the surrounding luxurious meadows along with the wooded strands and the dense maroons of forests offer magnanimous sightseeing experiences of witnessing Royal Bengal tigers, barasingha, hunting ground to leopards and wild dogs, Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh also shelters over 350 species of birds and 1000+ species of flora.

Traversing Kanha National Park will give you a glimpse of the actual locations from the National Geographic’s award-winning documentary film, ‘Land of the Tigers’, which was shot here.

Spending some time with the Baiga tribe will be an all new experience. You can either shop the artefact as ornament or as a souvenir from Kanha.

Best Time To Visit – October to June

Best time for Jungle Photography (October to January)

Large number of tourists visit this forest in this period for photography of lush green forest, safari trails & do birding. In this time, deers & antelope skin color glows.

Best time for Birding (December – February)

Large number of migratory birds use to visit India and thus one can enjoy good birding & photography.

February – March

During this period vegetation is still green and temperature is moderate and we can sight tigers various moods in different poses with more glowing coat.

April – June

Tiger sighting probability remains high in summers i.e. from April to June month. In this period, vegetation also dried up so our visibility, inside the forest increases. 

Safaris

Four wheeler open gypsy takes you to the core and buffer tourism zone of the park for Safaris.

Regular Safari – Two Safaris in a day, Morning (5 Hrs) and Afternoon (3 Hrs)

Full Day Safari – It lasts from morning till evening from 6.00 Am to 6.00 Pm.

Timing varies as per forest guidelines and as per summers and winters.                  

*Note – Park is open for tourists from 1st October – 30th June. Entry for park round is in the morning and in the evening Park remains closed for tourists in the afternoon of Wednesday.
