Jim corbett

Jim Corbett National Park is established in 1936 and it is India’s first National Park. This park named after the legendary naturalist and conservationist Jim Corbett. Furthermore, it is located at the Himalayas foothills, near the popular hill-station of Nainital.

Expands over an extent of 520 sq. kms, its whole area comprises of hills, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands and large lake. The park is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of Pauri Garhwal, Almora and Nainital.

Park provides shelter to major population of tigers and rare species like Otters and the endemic fish eating crocodile. Dhikala is situated at the border of the extensive Patli Dun valley, is another most popular destination.

 It houses around 110 tree species, 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.

Nearest Airport – Phoolbagh – Pantnagar – 50 Kms

Delhi – 295 Kms

Nearest Railway Station – Ramnagar – 15 Kms

Best Time To Visit – October – June

October – January – Winters are the best time for birding. Tigers and other animals can easily be spotted as they roam around the park in this season.

March – June – During summers temperature rise up to 40 degrees and one can get to see animals near water bodies in the park.

July – September – These are less crowded months and temperature drops. In rainy season, the animals enjoy their mating time. 

Safaris

Four wheeler open gypsy takes you to the core and buffer tourism zone of the park for Safaris.

Regular Safari – Two Safaris in a day, Morning (Approx. 5 Hrs) and Afternoon (Approx. 3 Hrs)

Timing varies as per forest guidelines and as per summers and winters.                                                     

*Note – Park is open for tourists from 1st October – 30th June. Entry for park round is in the morning and in the evening Park remains closed for tourists in the afternoon of Wednesday.
